An alumna of the University of Alberta, with courses in information technology, Rachelle Drouin received her public relations diploma from MacEwan University in 2010. Since graduating, she has continued to develop her skills and knowledge through participation in mentorship, workshops, online learning modules and formal coursework.
Rachelle’s strong work ethic, passion and desire for excellence have led to a number of successes. In 2011, she and two colleagues developed a web strategy and social media plan to improve the Strathcona Centre Community League’s website. This plan, which includes sections on search engine optimization (SEO), best practices, user-centered design and methods for effective measurement, earned a 2012 Capital Award of Excellence from the Edmonton chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
With a solid understanding of public relations principles and practice, communications research and the importance of brand identity, Rachelle has the skills necessary to raise the profile of your organization.
Born and raised in Alberta, Rachelle has been proud to call Edmonton home for more than 25 years. She has strong ties to this city, and she is forever awed and inspired by the vibrancy and resilience of its people, the diversity of its neighbourhoods and the richness of its cultural fabric. When not practising her music, writing, reading or gardening, she enjoys taking in the city’s many festivals and spending time with her wonderful husband Brian.
